Joe Mikuliak - August Guest Speaker

Photographer ~ Joe Mikuliak

Guest Speaker at the AOY meeting

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Joe Mikuliak "Self Portrait in Instanbul"

Joe Mikuliak is a photographer at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He enjoys giving a talk and demonstration to artists on ways they can photograph their own artwork. "I have been a photographer at the Philadelphia Museum of Art since 1980 and giving this talk for almost as long", he said.

His one-evening presentation begins with how to set up equipment to record 2D and 3D work indoors or outdoors. He reviews best practices and discusses some advanced techniques.

The material in Joe’s seminar is designed for artists who want images for their portfolio, to submit to juries, or for printing. The techniques shown can be used with digital or film cameras.

Joe does not answer questions about how to operate any particular camera or which specific model to buy; however, there is always time for questions regarding photographing special materials or solving difficult lighting problems.

A hand-out reviewing material in the talk and demonstration is provided to participants. For more information, you can visit Joe’s website, http://joemjoe.com in the professional photography section.

AOY meeting begins promptly at 7:00 pm at the
Bucks County Free Library on Edgewood Rd. in Yardley.
