Artists of Yardley May Meeting

On Wednesday, May7 at 7:30 PM, the Artists of Yardley monthly meeting will feature presentations by two of its members, Lynette Shavel and Michael Patricia Gambino.

Photographer Lynette Shavel specializes in classic family portraiture. Working in her home based studio, Lynette captures the essence of the individual and creates a generational heirloom. Her Bucks county scenic photographs also portray a style that is simple and timeless. After working for many years as a graphic designer and publication specialist, Lynette began to devote herself to her lifelong interest in photography. Lynette’s corporate work has appeared in a variety of national and business publications and includes cover credits. More information about Lynette and her work can be found on her website www.lynetteshavel.com

Patricia Gambino is a ceramicist inspired by nature. In her pottery line entitled “Trial by Fire”, Patricia incorporates stones and branches and uses a barrel firing process with natural materials such as wood and dried plant matter which give the pottery its patina rather than traditional glazes. In addition she creates functional stoneware pottery line called “Kitchen and Garden.” Patricia is a Master Gardener and an artist member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. She studied at the Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta. Her work is sold locally at art festivals and craft shows.

Both artists will share a short presentation of their work with the group and invite questions.
